Hi, I’m Diana

Book Marketing Coach
& Bestselling Author

Want more book sales but feel overwhelmed? As a book marketing coach with 15+ years of digital marketing expertise—seven at BookBub—I’ll give you concrete action items to reach more readers in a way that feels fun and manageable.

What I can help you with

My goal is to help you reach more readers with less stress. Publishing’s a fickle beast—I’ll always be transparent and set realistic expectations.

1 | Book Marketing Plan
(Focus on high-impact promo)

I’ll build you a personalized marketing plan that provides a clear, step-by-step roadmap based on your goals, audience, budget, and preferences, with a Q&A round so you’ll feel fully prepared. By the end, you’ll have a strategy you can confidently (and enjoyably!) implement to reach more readers without hijacking your writing time.

2 | Metadata Coaching
(Boost Amazon visibility & sales)

I’ll provide competitive analysis and keyword/category recommendations, then coach you through writing your book description (including two revisions) and designing Amazon A+ assets. By the end, your book will stand out to Amazon’s algorithm AND readers, and you’ll feel empowered to repeat this process for future books./p>

3 | Book Marketing Critique
(Improve your results! )

I’ll review your existing promotional assets and provide a detailed writeup of recommendations. Can include your book’s packaging, author branding assets, specific campaigns, and more! (See FAQ for details.)

4 | Q&A Writeup
(Get personalized guidance)

Need tips on running a specific campaign? Have a list of questions (even about traditional publishing)? Reach out! My insights have saved authors time and frustration, and kept them from wasting money on ineffective tactics.

Why people hire me

What does a book marketing plan include?

I’ll build you a personalized marketing plan that provides a clear, step-by-step roadmap based on your goals, audience, budget, and preferences, with a Q&A round so you’ll feel fully prepared. By the end, you’ll have a strategy you can confidently (and enjoyably!) implement to reach more readers without hijacking your writing time.

This plan will include:

  • Detailed breakdown of recommended marketing activities
  • Best practices and step-by-step guidance for each item
  • Personalized strategies that align with your genre/audience
  • Suggestions for free and paid tactics that fit your budget
  • Templates where application to make execution easier

Fill out the form above to download an example structure for a book marketing plan! (Note that the exact contents, ordering, etc. will vary by author, goals, genre, and book.)

What kinds of marketing assets would you critique?

I’ll review your existing promotional assets and provide a detailed writeup of recommendations. These can include:

  • Packaging: covers, taglines, backmatter (to upsell your series and solicit reviews)
  • Author brand: website, newsletter, Substack, bio, social media
  • Specific campaigns: preorders, Amazon Ads, BookBub, street/ARC team management

You can request that I critique as few or as many assets as you’d like. When you make your request, simply list out what you’d like me to review. The more specific you get, the more likely I’ll be able to squeeze in your project sooner!

What does metadata coaching entail?

I’ll provide competitive analysis and keyword/category recommendations, then coach you through writing your book description (including two revisions) and designing Amazon A+ assets. By the end, your book will stand out to Amazon’s algorithm AND readers, and you’ll feel empowered to repeat this process for future books.

Will you create and run my marketing campaigns for me?

No. As a book marketing coach, I specialize in strategy—building tailored book marketing plans and critiques that provide clear, step-by-step roadmaps based on your goals, audience, budget, and preferences. No matter which service you hire me for, you’ll get actionable recommendations, guidance on best practices, and templates where useful, plus a chance to ask follow-up questions so you feel confident putting your plan to action.

In my experience, this approach often delivers better results, not only because you know your story best, but you can adapt, make quick adjustments, and connect more authentically with your readers. If you’re looking for a full-service marketer instead, another Reedsy expert may be a better fit. But if you use my approach, reaching new readers will feel fun and manageable, not overwhelming.

Why did you decline my request?

I’m so grateful to have a lot of demand from prospective clients, but since I get so many requests, I’m unable to provide personalized explanations each time I decline a project. These are the most common reasons:

  • I’m not the right marketer for your project. For example, if your book falls far outside my specialty genres (which my Reedsy profile specifies), I’ll decline those; you’ll get more value partnering with a marketer who specializes in what you write!
  • You’re looking to offload your marketing. See my FAQ “Will you create and run my marketing campaigns for me?”
  • I don’t have enough availability for your project. I tend to book projects 1-3 months in advance. Sometimes I can fit in certain projects—like a Q&A writeup or metadata coaching for one book—at short notice. But if you’re looking for a full marketing plan and I already have a packed roster over the next three months, I’ll decline so you can find a marketer with availability sooner!

Do you guarantee results?

No. I’m not here to make false promises or give you false hope. The only thing about publishing you can guarantee is that there are no guarantees.

Sometimes you’ll see claims like, “FOLLOW THESE EIGHT STEPS I TOOK TO LAND A SIX-FIGURE BOOK DEAL!” But the truth is, you can do all eight of those things entirely the “right” way and still not get their results. There are too many factors at play: the book’s plot, tropes, and cover, the subgenre, the target audience, the author’s unique personality, and—these days—algorithms that act like slot machines. Luck plays too big a role to create a single formula for success.

What I can offer are my recommendations and expertise as someone with 15+ years of marketing experience, including seven at BookBub. I’ll save you countless hours of research and frustration, and keep you from wasting money on tactics unlikely to move the needle. I’ll also demystify the industry, help you set realistic expectations, and make the process less overwhelming.

If we work together, I’m happy to share everything I know—but always with the caveat that even the best laid plans take a sprinkle of luck and a dash of good timing to be successful.

How long will my project take?

It will depend on both the scope of the project and my availability. I will send you the estimated project length, start date, and milestone dates (requiring turnarounds from either of us) when I send you an official proposal (a.k.a. “offer” in Reedsy).

I add projects to my schedule on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if timing is a factor for you, please reach out to inquire on my availability ASAP.

If some health or family emergency crops up, I’ll always communicate with you ASAP and keep you informed. I believe communication is crucial in any business relationship, and I will never go MIA unless a legitimate health crisis makes it impossible for me to respond.

Can I ask you follow-up questions?

Absolutely! As your book marketing coach, it’s my goal to help you feel confident implementing whatever plan or strategy I recommend.

All of my services include ONE (1) round of Q&A, where you can send me a list of questions and/or ask via inline comments in the document I deliver. If you’d like more than one round of Q&A, that’s no problem at all—just let me know in advance so I can build it into the cost.

My metadata coaching project includes TWO (2) rounds of feedback, so we can make sure you get your book description sparkles before you upload it to Amazon. 🤌

Please note that I deliver answers to all Q&As as a Word doc writeup. A Zoom call is not included in any of these services.

Why don't you offer Zoom calls as part of your services?

To be fully transparent, it’s for two reasons:

1 – I tend to be more eloquent and thorough in my written responses, and I prefer to give my clients notes they can easily refer back to whenever they’d like.

2 – My health makes it difficult to stick to rigid schedules. When I work, I hyperfocus and crank out projects (and books!) like I’m Alexander Hamilton running out of time. But, sadly, my immune system makes it hard to predict when I’ll need to take breaks, so scheduling meetings is tough. Freelancing as a book marketing coach gives me the flexibility to work when I’m able, and I have enough demand from clients who are happy to do everything in writing that I don’t need to accommodate this stress point—for which I’m very grateful!

Thanks for understanding. 🫶
